Benchmade Shootout® Knife - CF-Elite®

Arguably one of Benchmade's most exciting releases, when the Shootout launched, this handsome out-the-front in EDC form had the knife world buzzing. The new 5371FE and 5371BK-01 Shootout variants features a more EDC-friendly drop-point blade profile with the same out-the-front double-action mechanism. The molded Grivory handle retains the detailed grip texture that provides fast indexing and greater control in high-pressure scenarios. The 5371FE and 5371BK-01 also shed the lanyard loop, bringing back the original glass breaker - because this OTF EDC doesn't mess around.

• Drop-Point: Drops off the spine to the tip. Tip height is typically below the center line on the blade

• CPM-Cruwear Super Strong Tool Steel (63-65HRC): An air-hardenable, non-stainless tool steel that has an exceptional balance of extreme toughness, strength and wear resistance, making it an excellent choice for general purpose, hard-use cutting tools

• CF-Elite: Reinforced by carbon fiber rather than glass, CF-Elite is a thermoplastic composite with increased rigidity and reduced weight compared to Grivory

• Automatic: "Autos" have a button or other actuation switch that mechanically fires the blade open without the user directly manipulating the blade

• Prevent Rust: All steels, regardless of grade or price, can eventually rust. To avoid corrosion, always keep your knife clean, dry and lightly lubricated. If rust or spotting appears, a quality semi-chrome metal polish can usually restore the finish
• Hand-Wash Only: Always hand-wash your knife with warm water and mild dish soap, then dry thoroughly
• Use as Intended: Benchmade knife are precision cutting tools. Do not use your knife as a pry-bar, screwdriver, chisel or punch-unless specifically designed for those functions
• Sharpen with Care: If sharpening at home, avoid grinding wheels and high-speed machinery, as they can damage the blade. Use appropriate hand-sharpening methods for best results
• Tighten Hardware: Over time, handle, pivot and pocket clip screws may loosen. Use T6 and T10 Torx drivers for adjustments and apply a small amount of releasable thread-locker to maintain secure fittings
