For Sequoia Webb, a day spent outside usually starts the same way: boots on, horses saddled, and a whole lot of time in the sun.
As a barrel racer and horsewoman, Sequoia’s gear has to move with her through every part of her day, from training and riding to getting ready for competition. The pieces she reaches for aren’t just about looking western, they have to work.
That’s exactly why her Stetson Classic 20X Straw Cowboy Hat has earned a permanent spot in her summer rotation.
Before she puts on her helmet and heads into the arena, Sequoia spends most of her day in her straw hat. “I wear these jeans so often, it feels like I don’t own any other jeans.”

Most days, she’s coming straight from a full-time job at a credit union to the barn. On the weekends, she might be riding, competing, or heading to a rodeo. And somewhere in between all of that is a woman who still wants to look good doing it.
Her wardrobe has to keep up.
“Comfort, flexibility and durability” are the first things Sequoia looks for in her clothes. As a barrel racer and lifelong horse and mule rider, she needs pieces that can handle everything from hopping on a horse to shoveling manure, while still giving her the freedom to move when she’s competing at high speed.
But practicality doesn’t mean sacrificing style.
“I obviously like to dress cute and look cute for rodeos and racing,” she says. For Sequoia, the goal is....
