Canine Spectra 5

Canine Spectra 5 is a 5-way vaccine designed to aid in the prevention of several common canine diseases. It provides protection against Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus Types 1 and 2, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus. Ideal as a first shot for puppies, this vaccine contains the CPV2b strain, which has shown effective protection against CPV2c.

Directions
Open the syringe by twisting or tapping the cap against a hard surface to break the heat weld. Aseptically rehydrate the vaccine cake with 1 mL of sterile diluent supplied. Shake well. Withdraw the entire contents into the syringe and administer a 1 mL dose subcutaneously.

Subcutaneous administration: Lift the loose skin behind the neck or the front leg and insert the needle. Inject the entire contents of the syringe. Do not inject directly into a blood vessel.

Important note: Before injecting, pull back slightly on the syringe plunger. If blood enters the syringe, choose another injection site.

All dogs should initially receive one dose and a second dose 2 to 3 weeks later. Maternal antibodies may interfere with immune response in young animals, and additional boosters may be necessary. While annual revaccination has traditionally been recommended, consult your veterinarian for guidance on booster frequency.
