Feeding GuideWeaning Pups: Puppies may begin eating solid foods around 3-4 weeks of age, so moistened food should at all times. Mix 6 parts of kibble with 1 part warm water, allow the mixture to stand for approximately 5 min, then stir and serve. Change the food frequently to ensure freshness. Allow your puppy to eat at will until fully weaned around 6-8 weeks.
Growing Pups: Feed puppies up to 6 months of age twice the recommended amount shown in the table. Puppies between 6 months and one year should be fed around 1.5 times the recommended amount shown in the table. Overfeeding large and giant breed puppies can result in developmental bone disorders, so caloric intake should be adjusted to support gradual bone and muscle development. As puppies near adulthood their caloric needs decrease, so monitor their weight and adjust food amounts as needed to maintain ideal body condition. Food consumption increases during pregnancy, so feed the amount needed to maintain the pregnant female in good condition. Food intake during lactation can be 2-4 times higher, so feed the nursing female all she wants to eat.
