The JJ Special was developed by Jim Jones (JJ) of Jackson, Wyoming and imitates everything from a baitfish to a crawfish. Although the pattern is generally meant to be stripped like a streamer, it catches fish dead swung or nymphed as well. This pattern is often viewed as a trout pattern but is absolutely a deadly smallmouth bass pattern as well, and can be affective on many other species.
