LOC’s patented 3-D Mesh Tech™ waders are designed and developed in Sweden with one thing in mind: to keep you dry and comfy longer than any other wader. Their waders don’t breathe and for good reason, the “breathable” membranes used by other brands are fragile and susceptible to the wear and tear you might encounter on your fly-fishing journey (spilled fuel, sharp rocks, sharp sticks, snow, and ice). Add to this, in our experience, no membrane “breathes” effectively enough to keep up with the body’s heat and sweat production in real life situations.

CONDENSATION & SWEAT

The patented 3D-Mesh Tech™ System delivers constant distance and unrestricted airflow inside your wader, keeping condensation and moist air away from your body. As you build up sweat it´s transported through the hydrophobic 3D-Mesh where it´s trapped on the surface of the outer fabric. Since your body never gets in contact with the outer fabric you stay dry and comfy.

IMPORTANT!

When done fishing you should always turn your LOC Waders inside out to dry. Not only is it always nicer to slide into a pair of dry waders the next morning, it will also prolong the lifespan of the wader.

INSULATION & VENTILATION

The constant distance and unrestricted airflow delivers a layer of insulating air between you and the cold water at all times. This means that you won’t have to dress in thick and heavy undergarments anymore, a thin merino wool base layer is all that is needed to stay warm and cosy in all conditions.

DO LOC WADERS GET WARM IN THE SUMMER?

Many believe that our waders are only for cold conditions. Let´s put this straight. On a hot summers day all waders get warm. Even ours, but not more so than ordinary waders. The patented 3-D Mesh Tech System™ also helps with ventilation as you move around. Add to this that you dress very thinly underneath a pair of LOC waders (you only need a very thin Merino long-john regardless of temperature or conditions). To increase ventilation further, simply pull open the zipper and you quickly cool down as you walk. Another tip is to “wet down” your waders when on land on hot days, the cold water will cool the fabric and act as a cooling element.

PRESSURE DISTRIBUTION

The patented 3D-Mesh Tech™ System delivers exceptional resistance to pressure, minimizing the uncomfortable “squeeze” effect experienced as soon as you step into the water in ordinary waders. With the help om the 3D-Mesh the outside pressure from the water is distributed evenly over your legs delivering a whole new experience of comfort when wading.

HOW TO DRESS IN LOC WADERS

ON BODY: In ordinary breathable waders you normally dress in layers of insulating undergarments (Long-johns + thick bibs etc.) to keep warm and comfortable. This is NOT how you should dress in your LOC Waders! If you do you will simply get too warm! Therefore, and we can’t repeat this enough, it is important that you dress as lightly as possible inside your LOC Waders. This is since the patented 3-D Mesh Tech System inside the wader already provides the insulation and warmth needed. So, you should only dress in a thin base layer (we ourselves use the thinnest Merino Wool long-johns*), regardless of temperature on land and in water.

NOTE! We are all different, how you need to dress to stay warm and comfortable is very personal and will differ from others. This goes for all outdoor activities. But if you follow our suggestions above, you´ll have a great starting point for adapting to your specific needs.
