Meet the Jacket Built for Northwest Adventure

Whether you are going from the truck to the field, or enjoying a day out on the slopes, the Smith + Rogue 777 Front Range Jacket has your back. Certainly, through the toughest storms here in the Northwest, this jacket is sure to keep you warm and dry with the Nikwax treated down fill. There is a list of unique features that come with this jacket, but the VISLON zipper has to be our favorite here at North 40.

VISLON Magnetic Zipper

The magnetic center front VISLON zipper allows you to bundle up with those winter gloves on. It is not the ordinary zipper that comes on most articles of clothing that we are all familiar with. If you are someone who likes to tuck your gloves into the cuffs of your winter jacket, then look no further. Smith + Rogue has made it less of a hassle to gear up.

When zipping up all you need to do is bring the ends together at a slight angle until you start to feel the magnets doing the work for you. Below we have added a visual demonstration of all the features with this jacket including the zipper.

Staying Dry

Winter here in the Northwest can be a bit daunting with heavy snowfall and bitterly cold temperatures. Not only does this jacket provide warmth with 800 Down Fill Feathers (80/20 Goose down to be specific) but these feathers have been treated with Nikwax.

What is Nikwax you might ask? Nikwax is a PFC-free hydrophobic coating. When non-treated down gets wet it is practically useless because down can no longer contain your body heat within the feathers once they are wet. Nikwax has astonishing water repellency keeping those feathers dry so you can stay warm. Even with this treatment, the 777 Front Range Jacket is still very breathable thanks to the outer nylon shell.

Pack Light

While this jacket holds a ton of warmth inside itself, you will be surprised to learn that it is not bulky at all. In fact, this jacket is a real space-saver! It comes with a convenient travel pouch that can hold the jacket: the left chest pocket! Once you stuff the entire jacket within this pocket, it can double as your new camp pillow. When all packed up the jacket is only 7.5’x9’.

Windproof

The mountain tops and plains of Montana can bring along some severe wind. However, harsh weather is no match for this jacket. The hood of the 777 Front Range Jacket contains the same 80/20 Goose Down as the rest of the jacket. Included is a drawstring for cinching to make sure your hood will stay in place for the windiest of adventures. Not only is there a drawstring in the hood, but tucked away in the pockets there is a waist-cinch, so you don’t have any uncomfortable breezes coming up your shirt.

Overall, the Smith + Rogue 777 Front Range Jacket was designed with all the complexities of the Northwest in mind: strong winds, heavy rain, and cold weather. It’s made to keep you warm and comfortable so that you can keep adventuring, no matter what the weather throws at you. Come try it for yourself! Stop into your local North 40 Outfitters to try the two exciting color choices: tarmac green and pirate black.
