The Husqvarna 450 Rancher Chainsaw: Used & Reviewed

Putting the Husqvarna 450 to the test... When we all ended up in Monarch staring up at a 70' blue-stain pine, the Husqvarna 450 Chainsaw looked a little- puny for the task at hand. This was a horrible assumption as you can see from the photographs below. The Husqvarna Rancher 450 chainsaw packs a real wallop, if you'll allow me to usurp a colloquialism. It's a 50.2 cc, 3.2 HP made for all-around usage. While we cut down, limbed, and sectioned a huge tree this chainsaw works just as well on broken fence, railroad ties, or any other everyday usage typical on properties here in the Northwest. You can learn more about the specifics of the 450 Rancher on our product page, here. Another cool product spec that was directly related to our little outing in Monarch is the air injection in this chainsaw versus other chainsaws. It has a centrifuga... Read more

  7. 4 Reasons Why Your Animals Want You to Look at Weaver Leather

I’m always surprised by how many of our products inside North 40 Outfitters are made in the USA.  Contrary to popular belief most livestock feed, animal health products, and even many tack items are manufactured in North America. In the past, I have been a tack and animal health buyer for North 40, I’ve sat on committees in the industry for this category, and I’ve been to countless shows, meetings, supplier’s visits, and factory tours.  However, I have never been to Weaver Leather or Ohio for that matter. So, when I got the invite to the Weaver Leather headquarters and their factory in Berlin, Ohio with our current tack buyer, Erik Haugen, and our farm and ranch category manager, Jesse Ova, I jumped at the opportunity. During our visit, four main themes kept reoccurring as we visited the different manufacturing facilities and of... Read more

The advantages of this are; that you can change tanks between different weed killer types, and you can store your chemical separately for the season. Watch the video below to learn more.   Good morning. My name's Steve Hickey. I'm at the Mid-States Show in Minneapolis with North 40 Outfitters. How do I Determine Towing Capacity?

You have to understand your vehicle's maximum towing capacity before you tow. To exceed the manufacturer's rated capacity is to create an unsafe driving situation. This could possibly lead to damage to your vehicle's engine, transmission, rear axle, brakes and wheel bearings. It will definitely void the manufacturer's warranty. That's why we put this blog together... so we could answer the age old question: How do I determine towing capacity? If you're looking to buy a trailer, you can submit a quote request here, and we will work to get your order filled as soon as possible.  When considering the capacity you will need, always buy high, meaning get more than you think you will actually use you don't want to be out in the middle of Neihart in winter wondering if loading an extra horse will put you over the maximum towing capacity.
