  1. Safest Tow Rope on the Market | Mibro Ditch Pig Kinetic Energy Recovery Tow Rope

Safest Tow Rope on the Market | Mibro Ditch Pig Kinetic Energy Recovery Tow Rope

No chains. No straps. No cable tows. And, no snapping. Using kinetic energy, the Ditch Pig can stretch the momentum that gets put into the pull end of the rope. This allows for a much safer way to pull out a distressed vehicle. With the Ditch Pig Recovery Rope, you can pull and go. Watch the video below to learn more.   Good morning, my name's Bob Christiansen with TSSI. We are the rep company that handles MIBRO for Mid-States here. What we're going to show today is the MIBRO ditch pig kinetic energy recovery rope.   This is a new concept in vehicle recovery systems. You're probably used to seeing chain tows and strap tows and cable tows. One of the inherent issues with those types of vehicle recovery systems is the danger of them eventually snapping, either the whipping effect of them breaking and hitting somebody or pulling...

Fly of the Week: TFP Copperhead & Boomslang

If you’ve fished steelhead during the summer, then you’ve fished low, warm water. These flies are the Slump Buster of summer run swinging steelhead flies. These flies move the pickiest of fish in low water on a sunny day almost as good as other non…swinging…. techniques. However, if you like swinging flies even against the odds, these flies will bring a bite. Fish them swung, fish them tight line in heavy seams, fish them to steelhead. Check out the Copperhead and the Boomslang. Did you know we feature a new fly every week? Read about last week's.

  7. Coeur d'Alene Fishing Report 09.20.18

    Coeur d'Alene Fishing Report 09.20.18

Coeur d' Alene River The fishing here is great right now. It’s such a great fall, with an occasional rain to help flows and keep the water cool, it has just been great.  There are lots of good reports coming in of great blue wing olive hatches and mahogany duns as well.  The October caddis are out and bouncing happily around.  So, using a big orange stimulator skittered through the riffles in the afternoon will get smashed for sure.  If we get more overcast and rainy days, look for fish sipping bwo's in the tail outs and mahoganies as well.  There are a few chinooks in the system now and an egg pattern below the redds will catch some nice cutties.  Think Alaska style patterns for these fish -flesh flies, hot pink bunny flies will get fish in specific situations on the Coeur d' Alene River.  Things should stay great for the next...

    Lewiston, Idaho Fishing Report 09.20.18

Lochsa River (ID) The current flow is 381 cfs at Lowell. Folks are still giving good reports from the Lochsa. Most are still focusing their efforts fishing dry flies. We’ve been selling hoppers to quite a few anglers who have either come back or are going to fish up there. Also, nymphing would be a good, productive way to catch fish right now too. Any time now we are going to start seeing October caddis fly around. You should be prepared to fish those if headed that way. North Fork Clearwater River (ID) The current flow is 679 cfs at the Canyon Ranger Station. Nymphing will give you some success. When nymphing, think about fishing three flies at three different sizes. This will give the trout a buffet to choose from. Currently, we are still waiting to hear about October caddis flying around. The trout should be getting more and more ac...

    Eastern Washington Fishing Report 09.20.18

Aeneas Lake (WA) You sure can tell the fall bite is coming on stronger each day. The fish at Aeneas Lake the other day were being a little temperamental towards most of the flies being presented to them. Like one angler told me, he couldn’t buy a fish. That was until he tied on a fly he had picked up at the shop the other day. I know some anglers may question the validation of booby flies as a real fly, but they do work, and they are working well at Aeneas Lake right now. That said, they are not the only fly that has been working for anglers. Reports from other anglers also indicate black leech patterns are producing some good results too. With both types of these patterns, I would use a type 3 full sinking line. The flies that have the best results are; a #10 coral booby, a #8 white and orange Chan’s Las Vegas booby Leech, a #10 bl...

    Sandpoint/Ponderay, Idaho Fishing Report 09.20.18

Clark Fork River (ID) The flows out of Cabinet Gorge Dam have been between 4,000 and 18,000 cubic feet per second, and the clarity is around 10 feet. The fishing is good for the most part. Hatches of caddis, western yellow mayflies, midges, and occasional October caddis periodically take flight throughout the day. If the trout aren’t eating a correctly matched fly, try throwing some stimulators. Flies like a #10 orange stimulator, a #16 purple rooster, or a #12 H&L variant will work well when nothing else does. This is also an excellent river to swing and strip streamers. You’ll want to try flies like a #6 Montana intruder, or a #8 olive balanced leech. Lake Pend Oreille The lake is very slowly beginning to drop. The water temperatures are in the low to mid 60s, and clarity is around 10 feet. The member’s only LPOIC derby ended...

Great Falls, Montana Fishing Report 09.20.18

Missouri River We have definitely moved into fall and chilly mornings with mild, instead of hot, days.  It’s an awesome time to be on the water. Nymphs The most consistent nymphing is up high toward the dam.  It’s really good up there.  You won’t be alone if you start between 8 and 9 a.m. in the morning, but you will likely catch a bunch of fish. If you go later in the day, you might just have most of the river to yourself. Moving downstream, the river picks up quite a few weeds in the drift.  Many anglers are choosing to run dry dropper rigs instead of indicators and dual flies.  The dry dropper rig is much easier to navigate amongst the weeds and can be very effective when fish are along the banks and spread over relatively skinny flats. Dry Flies Plenty of bugs are out and quite a few fish are eating them on top. Right now,...
