I’m John O’Hara. I’m with Muck Boot company at the Mid-States Fall Show. This is a brand-new style for us this year, shipping in fall. It’s the Ladies Artic Sport Mid.

It has a very rugged rubber outsole that gives you traction on snow and ice. Inside the boot for comfort and warmth you’ve got five millimeters of neoprene, plus fleece. Wicks moisture out if you get a little warm. It keeps you warm in most cold weather situations. Waterproof all the way up to the top with neoprene and again it’s a lady style new for us. Sizes five through 11.

Hello. My name is Lee Mishke and we're at the Mid State Show. I'm with Danner and Lacrosse Footwear and I want to tell you a little bit about the Gritstone Boot, new from Danner. Gritstone takes kind of the Danner heritage to using the stitch down construction where the leather comes down, is flared out and actually sewn all the way around. That enables you to have this boot resold.

Gritstone also features, obviously, the Vibram outsole as well as Danner dry waterproof membrane. Again, like a lot of Danner Heritage product, we do triple stitch the stress seems, double stitch the other seams and Gritstone is also available in a variety of configurations. You have safety toe versions. You also have a plain toe version, which I'm holding in my hand and there are even some insulated 400 grand Thinsulate versions as well. So you have, again, we also do what is a distressed leather.

It kind of gives it, well, that pre-broken in look and is also a little bit easier for you to break in, increasing your comfort and when we talk about comfort, one of the other unique aspects of the construction with Gritstone is that we are using a mid-sole here that takes some of the weight out of the boot instead of using a nine iron rubber mid-sole. But that mid-sole also gives you outstanding rigidity, both torsionally and laterally.

So you end up with better support through the day and at the end of the day, you'll feel less foot fatigue. So another advantage to that construction is then that obviously we've taken some of the weight out of the boot. So you're not carrying quite as much weight. However, we also have a rugged, Vibram out sole to it with a 90 degree heel on it that's aggressive enough to be worn on uneven terrain outdoors and obviously wears very well on concrete and pavement. So this is the Gritstone from Danner, new for 2017.

Hi there, I’m Rosemary with Watson Gloves and I have with me Melissa and today we’re at the Mid-states show and we’re going to talk a little bit about our new impact technology D3o.  

So, in Melissa’s hand here you can see that we’ve got a performance style glove and we’ve put the d3o into the knuckle bar. Now this foam padding here, this is what you traditionally see in impact gloves and see it’s squishy, bendy, whatever. This here is the d3o. It’s a little bit firmer. D3o is traditionally used in NFL helmets to prevent concussions and now we’ve moved that technology into gloves.

So, I’m going to do a little demonstration to show you the difference between traditional and the d3o. So, you can see I’ve got this metal ball here. When I drop the ball on the traditional padding, you can see it just bounces. When we drop the metal ball onto the d3o you can see it’s absorbing the impact. Which is what you’re looking for when you’re looking for an impact glove.

So, we have taken it and put it into this style glove. We’ve also taken it and put it into our ski mitt in the knuckle bar so when you’re out on your Skidoo, or your ATV, or you’re out on the snow hills you can be safe and secure with your hands driving your machinery and you don’t have to worry about banging up your knuckles.

My name is Brad Hawn. I’m with Golden Stag Gloves. We’re a Salt Lake City company. We are introducing a new glove to North 40 Outfitters, which is our best-selling fencing glove.

It’s been on the market for many years, but what makes this glove unique are the following things. It’s a heavy, durable cowhide so it’s stiffer than most cowhide gloves. So, it’s specially designed for handling wire.

With this we do a palm patch that’s the full grain of the palm, including the index finger and the thumb. It has great dexterity even though it’s a stiffer glove. It breaks in very well. It’s all double stitched and it’s a great golden color as most gloves should be right. And that’s our fencing glove.

Hi, I’m Dan Wert with farm innovators and I’m here at the 2017 MidStates show with North 40 Outfitters talking about some of the products that you carry.

We’re a popular product that we have for spring and baby chickens is our baby chick starter home. Whether you incubate chicks or you bring them home from the store you need a place to put them for the first three or four weeks until they grow and are ready to go outside.

So, this baby chick starter home is washable, reusable panels. It also features an adjustable lamp hanger so your bird lamp on here and then you can adjust the height as the baby chicks grow as to not put too much heat inside of it.

My name is Jason Willong with Miller Manufacturing. We're here with North Forty Outfitters and we're going to introduce today the dome feeders and waterers. These are high capacity feeders and waterers. Starting with the waterers, we have a five gallon, an eight gallon, and a ten gallon waterer. These are very nice because they get the water base off the ground to eliminate shavings and dirt and debris from getting in the water.

These are run by a vacuum. They come apart, which is very nice so all you have to do is pull this apart and you have two pieces. So, you can set the base down and the water comes through there so you can shut the water off by pulling that down and now you can carry this to your water source, fill it up and then bring it back to the stand and all you have to do is pop it right back into the stand. You have to lift the stop up and the bottom will fill up with water creating the vacuum and you have fresh water.

The feeder, the feeder is fairly straightforward. Top fill, we have a 35 pound, a 45 pound and a 60-pound feeder. Gravity fill with a feed saver ring. Again, the legs will keep it off the ground preventing debris and sawdust and other foreign matter from getting into the feed.

Very, very unique concept, getting that off the ground with the legs and the other point that I'll show you as well is you can see how well built the legs are. These are very, very heavy duty feeders that will last a long time and provide an excellent source of feed and water for your birds.

Hi, I am Lacey from Powerfields, here at the 2017 Midstates Show with North40. I'd like to talk a little bit about our product here that we call the Electric Poultry Pen, an NSPCX2.

It's an 82-foot electric fence netting. The horizontal strands have stainless steel conductors in it. You hook it to a quarter joule electric energizer. This is a positive-negative configuration so there's no ground rod needed. Makes it very portable. So positive goes to the orange strand, negative goes to the green strand. The animal must touch a positive and a negative together to get the electrical shock.

Good to keep predators out of chicken coops, also ideal for around gardens.

Hello, I’m Derick Herman with Gallagher animal management. I’m here with North 40 at the 2017 Mid States rendezvous.

I wanted to speak for a moment about a fairly new product of ours. It’s called the S16 Fence Energizer. So S stands for solar, 16 point one six joules. Remember always, always compare energizers with joules. That’s a measurement of horsepower for those of you that are unfamiliar with that.

So interesting things about this one, it is smaller than comparable units of old. That’s because solar technology has improved over the years, and so a smaller panel is able to achieve the same purpose.

A couple interesting features, that panel that I just mentioned is actually on springs so there’s a little bit of give. That increases the durability of this unit. We know that in the real world it bounces around in the bed of pickups, gets bounced around in fields, and it will take a licking and keep ticking – to use somebody else’s terminology.

A couple of interesting features besides that one, a universal t-post mount. You always want to point your solar unit towards the sun. Usually to the south, but depending on the geography of the area.

No longer do you have to pull your t-post and reorient it. This slotted receiver here will down on any t-post and any orientation. Makes it simpler and quick to mount in a temporary or permanent fence solution.

Couldn’t be simpler – there’s an on, there’s an off. That’s all there is to it. The grounding system goes to the green. The hot wire goes to the red.

The internal circuiting of this thing now allows it to conserve battery life. So, this thing will run for three weeks without any sun at all and continue to do animal containment. Under a really ideal condition, this thing will do up to 10 miles of single wire vegetation for a perfect fence. In the real world perhaps, a mile of more normal kind real-world applications.

Hi, this is Colleen with Standlee Premium Western Forage. We have another new product coming out later this year to show you.

This is a horse pill carrier. And what we have is an alfalfa-based carrier with what looks like a jelly inside and it’s a cranberry base. So it’s safe for all animals – just in case you have a dog like mine that likes to get into the horse stuff.

And what you do is you take the pill, you put it inside the carrier and not only is your horse getting a low-carb treat, they’re getting their medication that they need.

Hi, I’m here with Curicyn and we’re going to talk about the wound care hoof kit. This kit is designed to help horse owner’s that have hoof conditions and want to get away from having to soak your horse’s foot. The labor and intensive process of trying to heal your horse from an abscess from white line or thrush.

This kit is awesome. There is four boots contained in here and they basically consist of a medicated pad, a rubber boot, and a delivery system where the medication can be squirted in and around the hoof to be able to heal these conditions.

I’ve got a picture of what comes in the kit. You’ll get four of these boots, the rubber – this is like a giant band-aid and it goes on the hoof of the foot – and the medication is delivered through the tube. This can be worn for several days to help disinfect the foot.
