Why Buy a Liberty Safe? Find Out the History, Read Testimonials & Learn their Warranty Information

Companies are proud of their products for many reasons. Quality, quantity, sales and much more. But seeing "Made in the USA" label etched into a product always spurs a consumer's interest.

Why? Simple enough, really.

Currently, most of the products we buy, from the clothes we wear to our appliances, at some point or another, are made somewhere else. It's far more common to see a "Made in China" label than one for the USA.

So, when we see a "USA Made" label, we know that the product was made on American soil and by American workers.

Liberty Safes: The History of a "Made in the USA" Company

Liberty Safes have been proud of their USA Made products since 1988. Their story starts with Jay Crosby, an engineer/entrepreneur and previous co-founder of the Fort Knox Safe Company located in Orem, Utah.

In 1988, Crosby left Fort Knox Safe Company to start Liberty Safe and Security Products, Inc., a safe company that operated in three storage units to build six safes a day.

Despite its small beginnings, the company expanded rapidly. The next year had the company move into a 25,000-square foot production facility in Provo, Utah. With its status of being known for creating high quality, innovative and valued products, Liberty continued to grow and, by 1992, the company had not one, but two field distribution centers in the country.

Two years later, they become the #1 selling safe company in America, a position that they have maintained to this day.

Today, Liberty has come a long way from those three storage units. Liberty now produces their safes in a 300,000-square foot production and distribution facility in Payson, Utah, that doubles as their worldwide headquarters.

Employing more than 450 American workers, Liberty now produces 450 safes a day and have invested in a $10 million-dollar high-end production line to produce their safes in the United States.

From accessories such as door panels and the "Cool Pocket," to its top-of-the-line safes, Liberty is an American grown, American made company that's proud of its history and support in the USA.

Beating the Heat: The Liberty Safe Fire Rating, Testimonials

Fires can be incredibly devastating and can leave you with nothing if your house or place of business is completely consumed by the flames.

In order to combat the potential loss these fires can cause, Liberty Safes have a superior fire rating, aside from their great security features, that protects your guns and valuables in the event of a fire.

Liberty Safes make sure to provide a better way to face the heat of the flames in the event of a fire. They install more fireboards in the ceiling, walls, door jams and the door for better insulation. They have thicker steel bodies to endure the initial heat of the flames.

They also ensure that there are no weak links in the construction by balancing layers of fireboard in the safe, having an effective Palusol fire door seal (the best heat-expanding fire seal on the market), and multi-sided door bolts add to the overall effectiveness of the safe.

Liberty knows that the weakest link is how heat gets inside your safe, which is why Liberty does all of this to eliminate weak links in the safe. And they do this all here in the USA.

Not convinced yet? Perhaps some stories from Liberty Safe owners whose safes have survived the destructive fires that consumed their homes.

In October of 2007, California was devastated by a series of wildfires that consumed 2,200 homes. Many neighborhoods were issued a mandatory evacuation, and Kim Crosser and his family were one of those who were forced to leave for their safety. Unfortunately, their home was one of those many houses that were reduced to rubble by the fire. Because of the destruction the fire caused, he was doubtful that his Liberty Lincoln Safe survived. Imagine his surprise when his safe is the only thing left in the rubble. Even more surprising to him was the fact that his valuables inside were still in good condition.

John Best of Hot Springs, Arkansas, had a fire start in his garage October 15, 2010. When the fire was finally put out, after 2-3 hours under fire, the only thing left standing in his garage was his safe. Three days later, he called a locksmith to open the safe and several hours later, the safe revealed to have protected his papers and money and 95% of his guns. The fire inspector was amazed and advise others to inspect the quality of Best's Liberty Fatboy.

Scott from Arkansas also lost his home to a devastating fire. Nothing was salvageable in the destructive wake of the flames. After the fire was put out and Scott could look inside his home, he found his safe damaged and the lock melted off, but otherwise still intact. When he called to get his safe opened, despite the doubts from the investigator, he found that everything inside had survived the ravaging flames and heat of the fire.

While heartbreaking and unfortunate to hear the loss these people have suffered from the fires, it great to hear that their valuables had survived, allowing them to hopefully move forward during these hard times. And that is what Liberty strives to create: that even during such horrible events and losses, you still have some peace of mind that your valuables will be protected no matter what.

It is important to note that no matter how great the quality, no safe is completely fireproof. Increasing the fire protection and placement of the safe are key reasons why safes can survive these types of fires. The more fire protection your safe has, the longer that safe will last, and Liberty has a great range of safes with fire protection to suit your needs and concerns.

Plus, with their lifetime warranty, you're guaranteed that a brand new safe will be delivered to you when your safe is damaged in the event of burglary or fire.
