Lewiston, Idaho Fishing Report 09.27.18

Lewiston Fishing Report

Lochsa River (ID)

The current flow is 381 cfs at Lowell. The fishing has been good for folks who have spent time up that way. I am hearing that October caddis are starting to fly off and fish are targeting them. It is a great time of year to be fishing for big cutthroat.

North Fork Clearwater River (ID)

The current flow is 672 cfs at Canyon Ranger Station. October caddis have been flying off up on this drainage as well. Not too many people have been fishing up this way due to it being Archery season. However, it is a great time of year to catch fish. Nymphing under an adult October caddis pattern can be very productive.

Clearwater River (ID)

The current flow is 3,090 cfs at Spalding. They have started to put the plug in the dam and it has been starting to drop. The fishing should start picking up more and more. The numbers over the Lower Granite Dam have been decent. This makes the catching possibility higher. Small flies swung at an even pace will do the trick.

Grande Ronde (WA)

The current flow is 561 cfs at Troy, Oregon. The water temperatures have been coming into shape, bringing fish into the system. These fish are going to be moving through to the coldest water. You will find fish throughout the entire river. Skated flies will bring fish up, as well as smaller traditional flies too.
