New Fishing Lures Launched from Rapala and Storm in 2017

Lots of new products are launching from Rapala and Storm this year, and we wanted to make sure to give you a rundown of the "best of the best" new products.

Storm's 360 GT Swimbaits in 2017

So, obviously not brand new because the Storm 360 GT swimbaits were one of the hottest baits of 2016- BUT- now, not only can you get the pre-rigged packs for 2017, but Storm has launched the components individually.

Want to see the Storm 360 GT swimbait in action?

That means now you can get those sweet translucent jig heads with the rattle in them separate, and mix and match them with the molded to fit bodies.  This way you can use any size body with any size jig head, and with any color combo.

You can order the Storm 360 GT lure here, or opt to order the bodies and the jigs separately.

Rapala's Balsa Extreme Brat or the BX Brat Crankbait Fishing Lures

We all love the lively behavior of a balsa bait, and the Balsa Extreme series gets an addition with "The Brat." If you are new to the Balsa Extreme series, the major benefit to it over other balsa lures is that it has a copolymer (fancy way to say plastic) shell that adds durability.

You can watch a video of the bait in action here.

The BX Brat is a square bill crank focused on bass.  The square bill fishes through coverage and bounces off objects better than a traditional lipped crankbait.

Rapala's Glass Shad Scatter Raps

Bass and Walleyes guys are both going to be excited about this new series of baits. Rapala's number one selling bait, the Shad Rap, just got its groove back by adding a Scatter Rap lip.  As if this bait wasn't set up enough for success, it's also in the glass series, so all the translucent color options are available.

Storm's Arashi Cover Pop Fishing Lure

Watch the Storm Arashi in action in this introductory video here.

This bait got "Instafamous" a few minutes after Ott Defoe landed a 9lb 9oz. Largie on Lake Conroe.  Here's the press release from Rapala.com:

"For the second time this season, Rapala® Pro Ott DeFoe made a big splash for a big finish with a hush-hush new-bait. On Championship Sunday of the Bassmaster Classic on Texas lunker factory Lake Conroe, he caught and landed a 9 lb. 9 oz. bass that exploded on a Storm® Arashi® Cover Pop, a new topwater bait scheduled to be unveiled publicly in July."

Check out our selection of colors for the Storm Arashi you can order here.

Where it says it will be "unveiled publicly in July"- that's what's happening right now.

Rapala's Rippin Raps

The Bill Lewis Rattle Trap, like the Eppinger Red & White Daredevil aren't going away, but innovation isn't going away either.  Now, Rapala's #1 selling lipless bait, the Rippen Raps aren't new, but they did get new colors this year. These are great searching lures in early spring and late fall.

These fishing lures are available today.

Rapala's Super Shad Rap 2017

Swimbaits have become huge, and the crankbait category has some catching up to do. Enter the Super Shad with live image printing on the baits. These new Super Shad Raps are big, but, with a shallow running lip, they were made for targeting pike and big bass around log pile ups, beaver dams and docks and will run in the 5-9 foot range.

New Fishing Tools this Year?

Not a very cool topic most of the time BUT after reviewing the new product and getting the spiel about how these were designed by some talented dude in Hong Kong, we thought we should include a couple of images of what we are carrying this year.
