Guy 1: So we’re here with Paul with Shimano and they’ve come out with the new Tekota left-hand linecounter reel in the 500 and 600 spool size. Anglers have been asking for this for a long time so I’m going to let him talk a little bit about this reel.

Paul: Exactly, so this new 500 Tekota comes in a left-hand model. We’ve changed all kinds of features. It’s way more palmable, it’s the 20% reduction in the size of the reel itself. It has the same line capacity that we had in the previous Tekota’s. It has retrieve rate, a 6.3:1, which also 38 inches per crank so it’s a beast.

Paul: Very heavy duty palmable. It’s got the core protect as well, which eliminates that. Big display for the line counter portion. it comes in a line counter in both models, the 500 and 600 lefty, and it also comes in a right-hand model and it comes without the line counter as well. So, lots of options for any of your trolling fishing needs.

Paul: It’s great for jigging as well. A lot of power. The drag clickers a lot stronger than in the past. It’s really, it’s got a lot of torque to it. It also has 24 pounds of drag pressure that you can go on it. It still has the index drag that it actually clicks so you can tighten it or loosen it by click and it’s here.

Guy 1: So even with the smaller overall size the spool capacity still.

Paul: It’s just exactly the same, yes. So, if you look at the chart for it, it’s the exact same line capacity just at 20% reduction in the size of the reel so the footprints that much smaller.

Guy 1: That’s awesome, that’s a great looking reel.
