Lincoln Electric Welders Review: Tested by Locals

Mastering the art of welding can be a rewarding and useful skill.  Things break, and they need repaired around the ranch, farm, shop or home.  When it comes to metal repair, welding has long been the reliable and standard solution.

But welding isn't something you just learn by reading a book or watching a few videos on the intrawebs. To really learn welding, you have to flip down your welding helmet and let the sparks fly.

As my high school Ag-Ed teacher would say, "You gotta burn to learn."

Lincoln Electric Welder Review: Some Background Information

My high school mentor taught me many useful skills that are still with me today, but my overwhelming fear of electrical currents challenged him the most.  He taught me welding safety, how to correctly operate a welder and then watched until I was confident enough to explore on my own.  Soon enough I learned to enjoy the isolation of a dark welding helmet and the sounds of electrical energy flowing through my glove covered hands.

Back then there was basically two types of electrical welding; stick welding and a relatively new process called wire feed.  Today there are more welding processes, and welding can still be found in the majority of commercial industries--at the same time, it's become increasingly popular with DIY and hobbyists.  Welding is one of those unique skills that can take you as far as you want to go.  The more you practice the better you become.  Simple repairs turn into the challenge of fabricating your own solution.

Lincoln Electric Mig and Stick Welders

I learned to weld on Lincoln Electric stick and mig welders, which for me worked out great as Lincoln welders were found on just about every farm shop on my block.  This proved to become even more important as I entered the retail work force as just about every farm shop was purchasing Lincoln welders from their local farm store.
