Sitka’s Mountain Hauler 6200 Backpack—2018 Archery Trade Association Show

Sitka’s Mountain Hauler 6200 backpack offers 6,200 cubic inches of capacity, hauls 150-pound loads with a stiff, 6061-aluminum frame and comes in two adjustable sizes—medium and large.

This is Sitka’s first specific load-hauling backpack and should make hauling out your next animal just a little easier. It caught our eyes as one of the most interesting products we saw at the 2018 ATA Show in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Hey guys. I'm John Barklow. I'm the big game product manager at Sitka Gear. And I'm here with North 40 Outfitters at the 2018 Archery Trade Association Show. I'm going to kind of walk you through some of the new gear that I'm really excited about for the big game category.

What you see here is Sitka's new Mountain Hauler 6200. So Sitka Gear, in the big game category, has an array of packs. From really small daypacks leading up to the Mountain Hauler 6200. So this is Sitka's first load-hauling pack. If you're carrying out elk, if you're carrying out deer, if you're going into the back country for a week, the Mountain Hauler 6200 is your pack. 150-pound load rated. 6200 cubic inches fully expanded. Two sizes, medium and large. Fully adjustable suspension. Internal meat sling. And we have a full array of accessories now to go along with this pack, that will also fit any existing Sitka pack. So we're really excited about this. Subalpine and open country. Really great features. Super comfortable pack. Three densities of foam, we laid up in the suspension, just to give you that comfort. Carrying handle on the bottom and the top. Big kangaroo pocket on the outside, to stash gear, spotting scopes, et cetera. And just some really nice features like internal zippered mesh pocket in the top lid for security items, some things like that.

This pack has already been on brown bear hunts, moose hunts, elk hunts. And we're super stoked. All the feedback has been very positive. And really, the design philosophy around this pack, that I think separates it from any other load-hauling pack on the market right now, is the ability for us to take all the critical load-bearing components, the yoke, the waist belt, the load sling, and what I'm calling the antler straps. Yes, antler straps. We actually gave you the ability to tie a head or a hide or horns onto the pack. But all those critical load-bearing components are tied directly to the solid TC 6061 aluminum frame. Really stiff frame. And the better connection that we can get between the heavy load and that frame, we get the best load transfer to the wearer. So that's why this pack is super comfortable, and just really designed for that hardcore back country guy or gal who's going out there and wants to haul a lot of meat out of the field.

So, really excited. Mountain Hauler 6200. In the next couple of months, we're going to be rolling some things out. Stay tuned, North 40 and Sitka Gear, to learn more about this pack.
