10 Incredible Products Coming to North 40 Outfitters in 2018
Our North 40 Outfitters team trekked to Minneapolis, Minnesota last week and checked out all the new farm and ranch gear at the Mid-States “Rendezvous” trade show 2018.
On day-one we focused on innovative farm and ranch products that should make your operations run smoothly; on day-two we simply looked for interesting items that caught our eyes, eclectic new products you’ll see on our shelves later this year.

Pit Boss Copperhead 7 Smoker
We met with Pit Boss staff member Scott Lowe, after being stopped in our tracks by one of the baddest smokers we saw on the show floor. The “7” in the Copperhead 7 name represents the massive 7 cubic feet smoker that includes 2,059 inches of cooking area. As Lowe said in the booth, “The markets been electric or gas and we are bringing the pellet version mainstream”. We asked Lowe one final question, “Is this the coolest smoker on the market?” The response was quick and simple from Lowe: “Definitely.”

Ice is one of the biggest limiting factors when it comes to outdoors winter activity. Korkers' new Ice Commuter utilizes 10 replaceable push-through steel spikes that act as traction support on icy sidewalks and paths. One of the most frustrating things in life—next to assembling Ikea furniture—is assembling a cot. Fortunately, Turbo Cot is a fresh take on what you thought a cot could be. Employing easy unfolding technology, you can literally lift the cot up and let the handles go and it unfolds into position, similar to how an umbrella would. And it’s comfortable—you won’t feel bars and wake up at 2 a.m. with a sore back. Holding up to 350 pounds, this cot is sturdy and also is easily stored.
Big Dog Treestands Lockjawz
We rarely say much about new tree-stand innovations . . . because we usually don’t see anything strikingly different in the category. However, this year Big Dog developed a new way to affix a tree-stand to a tree, which allows one person to safely put up a ladder stand. This new innovation is called Lockjawz. It consists of two giant jaws, which are sturdier than we thought they would be, that clamp around the trunk of a tree using a pulley system. The teeth on the jaws sink into the bark, making a very stable connection. After the jaws are secured, a person can add more stability from the cockpit.
GSM Scent Slammer Portable Ozone Air Cleaner
This portable Scent Slammer product is one of the first to use ozone technology and be built for the masses. For anyone unfamiliar, ozone technology basically breaks up the molecules that create stinky things (the low-tech description). This new product comes in at a price people can afford, which means its great for your gym bags, hunting bags, or anything else. Ben Smith, a Scent Slammer company representative told us, “I’ve seen some of the products coming in this category and this will be the next big thing in scent elimination.”
Noble Outfitters Ladies 6” Muds Boot
Mark Mason, one of the leaders in the Noble tribe, drove us to the ladies Muds boots first. As he told us in the Noble booth, “The Muds boot is one of the only ladies boots that actually was built to specifically fit a women’s foot.” To achieve the great fit, Mason explained that Noble used a ladies-specific last, which is a mold to build the footwear with. The boots are easy-on and easy-off, and include an Ortholite footbed and mesh liner for breathability.
Watson Glove D30 Overtime Gloves
Rosemary Keon, a Watson Glove company representative gives away the Watson Glove HQ in the video when she says “skidoo” in place of “snowmobile.” The Canadian company just released the Overtime Glove which is a mechanics glove with a new type of padding that absorbs impact better than any other glove on the market. In fact, the same padding is used in NFL football helmets. Cool “eh?”
