These are my two pals, Dida and Copper. Dida is almost two-years old and a Siberian Husky. Copper is almost one and a mixed breed. I have had them both since they were puppies and at almost at 39 years old myself, they are pretty much my first companion pets. I have had some great working ranch dogs in the past but these two have taught me a lot about pet relationships and we have formed a strong bond in a short amount of time. They love being outdoors with me and going all out just as much as I do on our many adventures. When not running or mountain biking all over the Missouri River breaks, these two love to play and wrestle aggressively with one another. Needless to say we are pretty hard on pet supplies.

Cycle Dog: Innovative Collars Built to Last

We have been in the market for a new dog collar, but just haven't found anything that has stood out with the quality and benefits from equipment we have tried in the past until I came across Cycle Dog at the Great Falls store. The amount of color and quantity quickly got my attention. I was especially attracted to the earthy patterns with bright colors, which is reflective of our personalities. The second thing I noticed was the leash attachment was actually a bottle opener made right into the collar. Ingenious! How many times have you been outside and not had the appropriate tool to enjoy your celebratory refreshment?

I'm a big fan of ingenuity, especially on products that are made with quality components and that serve the deeper purpose of enriching our life. Cycle Dog: Earth Friendly Pet Company, hand sews their products in Portland, Oregon using post-consumer products. In this case, old bicycle inner tubes that could otherwise end up in landfills. Using recycled bicycle inner tubes as the base layer allows their collars to be comfortable, durable and water shedding. The rubber backing also dries quickly and will not hold oils or dirt that tend to cause skin irritations and/or odor.

My dogs are constantly running through thick bushes, and tugging at each other's collars as they wrestle. The hand sewn materials have held up well and not frayed like other webbed collars we have owned in the past because the collar design inlays the webbing forming a durable rubber edge. But by far my most favorite feature is the quality hardware including the stainless lead attachment, single length adjuster with additional ID tag location and the very dependable, easy to use, latch-lock buckle. Think commercial airline seat belt with a dependable clasp.
