Fly Tying Friday - Six Pack Soft Hackle

A gentleman by the name of Karl Haufler was the creator of this fly. The original pattern was tied with a color of yellow that Mr. Haufler came up with. The entire fly is tied out of pheasant rump feathers similar to a Carey Special. It is best described as a fly that imitates a damsel nymph. The yellow-colored pheasant rump feathers that are now available commercially seem to work just fine for me. Oh, and as for the name, long story short this fly seemed to be the only thing working at a given lake at the time and some bartering was done by all parties involved and the name stuck.
