Pinto Beans are an oval, medium sized bean often used in Mexican cuisine. Pintos are easy to grow and provide excellent nutritional value. These indeterminate, large bush type beans grow best in full sun and well-drained, fertile soil. Incorporate organic matter into the soil at planting, then fertilize as flowering and bud-set begins. Provide adequate amounts of water. Dried beans do require a longer growing season as you harvest them at full maturity. They can be used fresh, too.
