Premium Orchard Grass Pellets

Standlee recommends feeding Orchard Grass Pellets to senior, growing, overweight, and performance horses, breeding stallions, and mares early in prenancy. Orchard Grass Pellets are high in digestible fiber and support hind gut health. Pellets are a convenient, easy-to-measure feed option and can contribute positively to the overall digestive health of your animal.

Feeding Instructions:

Forage is the most important component of a horse's diet and should be fed at a rate of 1.5-2.5% of a horse's body weight. Gradually replace existing hay with Standlee over a seven to fourteen (7-14) day period.

Feeding Recommendations:

For increased hydration, aggressive eaters, or horses with dental issues, pellets are recommended to be fed wet, soaked in water (2 parts water to 1 part pellets) for 30 min. or until properly softened. Standlee recommends that pelleted forage is not the sole source of forage for horses since feeding some long-stem forage may help eliminate boredom and prevent stall vices. Feeding Tips: 

• Gradually introduce beet pulp into the diet during a 7-10 day period
• Beet pulp is a dehydrated product and is recommended to be soaked (completely submerged) in water for a minimum of 15 to 30 minutes prior to feeding, or until properly softened.
• Never feed moldy or insect infested beet pulp to horses
• Always provide free-access to fresh, clean water
