Daiwa’s new 4X and 8X J-Braid’s were quick to become popular angler’s. Following up on the success of Daiwa's J-Braid’s release the new J-Braid Grand 8X is an eight carrier braid made from a wholly new IZANA’s fiber that is ultra-smooth for long casts and increases abrasion resistance. Available in dark green, blue, and a new versatile light gray that disappears in a multitude of watercolor types. Watch the video below to learn more.

How are you doing? Marc Mills at the 2018 ICAST Show. I'm here with North 40 Outfitters. We're gonna talk a little about lines right now. We've been very popular the last few years with our J-Braid, Daiwa J-Braid Line. Now we came out with a third. I'm gonna go through these for us. But our third line is a new J-Braid Grand.

It's an eight carrier line but it's the best of both worlds. So we started quite a few years, about two or three years ago, we came in with the J-Braid regular J-Braid Eight. And what that is, is an eight carrier line. So it's got eight spans woven in a real soft angle. That gives it a real soft, supple feel. The downfall about that is that it's not very abrasion resistant. But it's quiet through the guides. It works great on spinning tackle. It's just not very abrasion resistant.

So last year we came out with the J-Braid 4X and it is also a four carrier Dyneema line but with this line, it's woven at a very steep angle. It's gonna have a very saw blade effect. Very, very, very abrasion resistant. But it doesn't have that soft, supple feel. And it's kinda loud going through the guides.

But what if we came out with something that was soft, supple and better abrasion resistant? And we did that with the J-Braid Grand. So what our studies show right now with this new J-Braid Grand? It's made of a material called IZANA's. It's a whole different, different spectrum of material than just regular Dyneema. It's a process that it goes through. A weaving process. But it's four times more abrasion resistant than our current four carriers. But it feels real soft and supple as the eight carriers.

[inaudible 00:01:38] we're saying it. It's the best of both worlds. Comes in a great price point range. Comes in three different colors. So you have green if you're a freshwater fisherman around vegetation or that sort. It works really, really well. We've got our ... See on here and right here, Island blue which is very visible, blue if you're an offshore angler. It looks really, really good.

And then we came out with this new color which is really cool. This color here is called gray light. Not light gray, gray light. And we did that for a cool marketing slide. And the reason we call it gray light is that if you're an offshore angler or somebody who likes to get out in the morning, real early? You see that gray tone in the morning when you got that cloud cover? This matches that. It's very visible above the water but especially in salt water conditions, it translutes a little bit better down into the water calm so you don't see it as much.

Hopefully, the fish will see it less. But it looks good. So any guys that have a silver reel, it looks great on silver reels. Awesome color. This is the gray light J-Braid Eight Grand. As you can see very soft, supple. Quiet through the guides. It's the best of both worlds. It's part of the Daiwa J-Braid brand.
