Connie's Cafe Review: Sandpoint, Idaho

In Sandpoint, Idaho, a diner on Cedar Street stands to contrast a world full of superfood filled smoothies and organic breakfast burritos- Bienvenidos a Connie's Cafe.

We showed up in Sandpoint late the night before, after embarrassing Google Maps' estimated arrival time by flying up the road from our Mead, Washington store.

We "closed it down" at the store with the management team, then headed downtown to Eichardt's Pub and Grill to immerse ourselves as much as we had time for in the local culture of Sandpoint a town we are lucky enough to do business in.

Looking for more things to do in Sandpoint? Look no further.

When we went to bed, it was to Eichardt's anthem, "No crap on tap," served up by our waiter.

One of our great friends from Sandpoint, Calvin Fuller, recommended we meet early, 7 am for breakfast so we could get an early start on long day we had planned.  Connie's is open at 7 am, and I can tell you not many places are open for breakfast at 7 am in downtown Sandpoint.

Our first impression was that of comfort. Connie's isn't your rundown diner from the past, incapable of being a café in the year they actually operate in no, they provide that honest, local experience you crave from a traditional diner cafe.

Connie's is what a diner or café is supposed to be:  It's clean, it has classic menu items, the menu items are cooked like you expect them to be, and the service and staff were extremely friendly.

You feel like you're supposed to feel in North Idaho at 7 am: at home, full, and ready to work or play in the Selkirks or on Pend O'reille Lake.

You want a red, white and blue breakfast to start your day in North Idaho?  The solution is Connie's.
