How to Connect Pipe Fittings without Tools

Hi, I'm Dan Snyder and I'm with the SharkBite Company. In my hands today I have our demonstration piece that is used to show people how the SharkBite connection system works.

You'll notice that there are three different types of tubing in this demo piece. There's CPVC, copper and the very popular PEX tubing. This SharkBite fitting can connect all three of these different pipes together without any tools, without glue and without soldering as well. You'll notice this device here, which is called a detention clip, can be used to disassemble the product by simply pushing down on the retaining clip and actually removing the pipe from the fitting.

To install the pipe back into the fitting, you simply push the tubing right inside until you hear that click and it is done. That's it. Again, there's no glue, no tools, nothing to do, but push the tubing inside the fitting. This is just a standard T fitting, but the SharkBite Company manufactures over 300 different skews for connecting pipe from quarter inch all the way up to one inch.
