Lamiglas Fishing NWSS Rods Review: Northwest Steelhead Salmon Series Rods

The Lamiglas NWSS (Northwest Steelhead Salmon Series) was made by the North 40 crew to mimic the higher end Ti1000 Lamiglas rods, while maintaining a lower price point.
Check out our selection of Lamiglas fishing rods online here.
Features of the Lamiglas NWSS Fishing Rods
We started with a black, G200 series blank, and accented the lower guides with red wraps. The rod features a sanded blank that is left uncoated by resins.
This allows the rod to be much lighter in the hand and creates less hand fatigue after long days on the water drifting or casting.
The rod also features several extra guides making it a 14 eye rod, in the casting/level wind version. This allows the rod to bend true when placed in a downrigger or fighting a fish. The rod has a traditional cork grip with a composite reel seat similar to the G200.
Lamiglas NWSS Spinning & Casting Rods: Break Down
We have 5 models of this rod in the casting version; 8'6" Medium, Medium Heavy, and Heavy as well as a 9'6" Medium and Heavy. (Check out the casting versions of the Lamiglass NWSS rod here.)
For the spinning rod size, we carry two models; the 8'6" Medium Heavy and the 9'6" Medium.
The cool thing about these rods is that they are sensitive enough to side drift for steelhead or salmon while still tough enough to put in a downrigger. These rods are also great for planer board fishing on Lake Pend Oreille or other lakes in the area.

My Co-worker was able to get it over to me and I have posted it below. Let me know if you have any other questions, I'm Happy to help.

Thanks for reaching out to us. I see that you are making quite the travel to do some fishing in the Seattle area. Below you will see some of the recommendation for that area that should help you in your fishing adventure.
First of all, no waders: no problem, you can fish from shore in some of the most beautiful settings in the Seattle area. This way you won't need to troll or charter a boat trip through the sound. If you would like more information on fishing access points in the area, I would contact Dave at Emerald Water Anglers in Seattle and say that North 40 Fly Shop in Omak referred you to them. They are very familiar with the area and should be able to point you in the right direction.

When it comes to salmon the “Sky†has recently opened under an emergency rule to Coho Salmon retention from the mouth up to the confluence with the Wallace River, near the town of Gold Bar. It looks like that water will be open thru October 31st. You can read the regulations in the link below for the full details on this stretch of water.
Regulations for WA (I have also sent this to your Gmail account)
For rainbow and cutthroat trout, I would suggest the Snoqualmie Forks (above scenic Snoqualmie Falls). This is near the town of North Bend, along I-90. This fishing will be best suited for your 9'5W fly rod. That is what I use for my rainbow and cutthroats here on the Missouri River and it is a popular size for these water conditions.
I hope this information I have for you above gets you where you need to be for your fishing adventure. The staff at the Omak North 40 Fly Shop were very helpful in the information I have provided you. If you have any other questions I would be happy to pass them onto them for their assistance. Thanks again for reaching out to us and I hope you have a good time in Seattle.
Best regards,
