What is N40 Coops 2.0?

In case you aren't in the know--N40 Coops is an annual event where we showcase the most amazing chicken coops we can find, and introduce you to the passionate people raising those chickens.

We have entries from all over, and we hear some of the coolest chicken stories you can image.

To help with this effort we, North 40 Outfitters, partnered up with Nutrena and together, we're on a mission to find fantastic chicken coops and their equally incredible owners.

Why Are We Doing This?

Last year was our first ever N40 Coops season, and needless to say, we not only received hundreds of amazing coop entries, but more importantly, we learned the stories behind each of the coops and found out why every coop is truly special and unique.

We also want to encourage people to start chicken farming by showing them the fun it can be.

This journey also afforded us the opportunity to meet some truly incredible and inspiring people and we learned the special bond and insight that comes with owning your own animals and being connected to your food.

We want to encourage more people to grow and raise their own food by learning the stories of those who are already in the know.

We want to encourage people to be more connected to the food they eat.  We want more people to be involved in farm to table, which inspires people to learn about the origin of their food.

If your coop is selected as a winner we will feature you, your coop, and all your chickens in this years N40 Coops Film.

This is an awesome opportunity for us to share your unique story and for you to share why you love doing what you do. Winners of N40 Coops will also walk away with some pretty major bragging rights!

Last season our 2016 N40 Coops event saw over 800 people turn out across our store locations to watch the premiere of our N40 Coops Film.

It was a great time for education, fun, and a chance for us to give away great prizes -- like a chicken coop... at every store.

2016 N40 Coops 2.0 Recap: Poultry Q&A with Mr. Cluck

N40 Coops 2.0 Video premiered live on our North 40 Outfitters Facebook page from our location in Sandpoint, Idaho. Twain Lockhart (aka Mr. Cluck) is a Nutrena Poultry Specialist, who has over 40+ years of experience raising and handling chickens was on hand answering poultry questions from the in-store audience as well as taking questions from the online Live audience, too.

We had great attendance and we gave away a chicken coop to one lucky winner who tuned in to our live broadcast.

As a company, we had no clue how the idea of North 40 Coops was going to turn out. However, thanks to these amazing chicken owners, the response we got in our first year with North 40 Coops was incredible.

We want to say thank you to all contestants who took time out of their day to enter, but also thank you for choosing a way of living that will truly make a difference. While these may not be the winners of N40 Coops, these coops are still a wonderful display of creativity, ingenuity and most importantly, love for their chickens.
