Sock of the Month: December 2015

Being that snow has started to fall in most of our areas we thought it would be a good idea to highlight a warm winter sock: enter the Fox River Outlander.

For December's Sock of the Month we had a number of our employees test these socks out. Some chose to test the socks out while working a full day on their feet in the store. Feedback from these employees was pretty universal: these are socks made for cold weather. Many of them reported their feet being "a little warm" while working throughout the day while inside. Despite the warm feet many also mentioned not noticing their feet being sweaty until late in the day, leaving all users impressed with how these socks wicked away sweat. One thing that was also mentioned was the thickness of the socks. The added thickness felt good  for the employees who worked all day on their feet, but that added cushion also led to feet temperatures rising.

Others chose to test them out on their days off while hiking around their state lands. Once again the note of these socks being built "for winter" came forward. The socks kept their feet warm while out hunting and hiking and had a solid performance in regards to wicking away moisture.

Another feature that was noted was that despite being a tall sock it managed to stay up on the users' legs. A few of the employees were hesitant to wear such "tall" socks because "they tend to slide down and bunch up." However, after a full day of wearing the Outlanders they were surprised and impressed with how they help up and did not bunch.

All in all the reports came back that the Fox River Outlander was a solid sock. Comfortable: a thick soft pad to cushion the foot and a fit that did not fall and bunch up on top of boots. Warm: most appropriate for outdoor vs indoor use and able to wick moisture away sufficiently. Are your current socks running a little thin or starting to get holes? If so, the Fox River Outlander might be a great entry to retire the old pair and start a new sock drawer legacy.
