Hey guys, Ken here with North 40 Outfitters, Lead Archery Tech at our West Great Falls location. Today I'm going to be talking about developing a consistent anchor point. So, we're actually going to use Conor as my main example so he'll be in front of the camera I'll be behind the camera talking

How to Have the Same Consistent Anchor Point?

So the main thing you want to see, is that they're string is consistently hitting the corner of the mouth and/or the tip of the nose. So, here he's got a wrist strap release he's pulling back to a consistent spot on his jaw with his thumb wrapped around the lower section of his jaw bone and then that string comes right into the corner of his mouth tip. Now he's looking straight through the peep. Go ahead and, fine, okay and it works the same. Even if you're using a different style of release you're going to be able to have that same consistent anchor point. Look up there and pretty close at 30 yards.

How do you Hit the Same Spot Every Time?

So the main thing that you're gonna want to do, is just make sure that you're hitting the same spot every time. And that's why it's good to have another point, either the tip of the nose or the corner of the mouth. You want to make sure that it's consistent every time, so just anchoring on the side with your hand typically is one spot to anchor on. But, you're gonna want to at least do one or two more to make sure that you're always going to the same spot every time.
