New Bows in 2021 - Mathews V3, Bowtech Carbon Zion, and more...

With the end of archery season, it is time to hang up the bow, re-organize all the gear that has been piling up for months inside of your hunting rig and start thinking about the next season.  Most archery companies release their new gear around the new year and most of this is usually on display at the annual ATA show.  This year, as many of you may already know, the ATA show will not be happening.  However, there are still some really cool products and bows coming out for the 2021 season!  Bow companies are always striving to create the next greatest bow by combining lightweight materials, smoother draw cycles, and increased smoothness.  Luckily, we have been able to preview a few bows for 2021 and a few of them are really standing out.

Mathews Released their New V3 Bow

This is their flagship bow for 2021 and is based on their VXR platform.  The new V3 looks and feels much like the VXR, but it does have a few new additions that are noteworthy.  First off, they added a new “Nano 740” damper controls to deliver a smother shot and reduced vibration.   The new “Centergaurd Cable Containment” is the most obvious change to the platform, which is said to deliver “optimal” cam timing.  The V3 is offered in a 31” riser (axle-to-axle) and a 27” riser to meet the demands of western big game hunting and tree stand or ground blind hunting.  The 31” V3 has an IBO rating for 342 fps and a 6” brace height and is offered in 8 different colors.  The 27” V3 has the same rating and features but is Mathews most compact bow to date.

The 31” V3 from Mathews is our favorite new bow of the 2021 season so far.  There are still some new bows that we have not shot yet, including the new bow from Xpedtion archery, which we can’t wait to see.

Bowtech Released two New Bows for 2021

One is the Carbon Zion.  This bow is based on the classic Destroyer/Icon platform and has all the updates of the 2020 models.  The Zion is a carbon-based bow making it weigh only 3.3lbs.  This bow is rated at 335 fps and is 31” axle-to-axle.  The Zion features synchronized Binary Cams the contain their Powershift technology to dial in your shooting style.

The other bow we are excited about from Bowtech is the Amplify.  This bow features a crazy amount of adjustment. It is perfect for the growing shooter and will shoot like a higher-end bow at half the price.  With 62 pound of draw weight adjustment and 9” of draw length adjustment, we can’t find a better bow for a beginner shooter or for a teenager getting into archery.  Draw length adjustments go from 21-30” and the draw weight starts at 8lbs and goes all the way to 70lbs.
