Hey guys, Ken here with North 40 Outfitters. I'm the Lead Archery Tech at our West Great Falls location and today I'm going to show you how to tie in a peep. Before you get started on tying the peep in you're gonna want to make sure you have the proper P height, and the best way to do that is when you get to your anchor point you want to make sure that you're looking straight forward and that the peep is just right there. You're not having to hunt up or down for it. If you need to move your head to find the peep you need to move your peep height.

How to Tie a Knot Around a Peep?

We've established where our peep needs to be already on this string, so we're gonna go ahead and tie it in. I've already done the top knot and I've tied the knot around the peep, so I'm gonna start with my bottom knot now. I'm gonna lay a tag end across the string, and I'm gonna start looping around it. Once I get that done, I'm gonna pull this tag in out of the way and tighten it down just a little bit. I'm gonna do two standard loops, and then I'm going to back serve. And what back serving is, is basically I'm gonna wrap this way  so, that when I unwrap this loop, it pulls my tag in through here and completes the knot for me. So this, you can see how this part is coming from the top, so I'm going to make sure the string comes in from the bottom on the other side -start wrapping around.

Once I've done enough wraps, I'm gonna lay it down underneath this end of the loop. I'm gonna start wrapping this loop in the opposite direction and, it's kind of unraveling this for me, I pull that guy tight.  There we go! I'm gonna pull these guys, make sure it's nice and snug, and then I'll snip and burn these off. And we have our peep tied in. Thanks for watching the video. I hope that this was helpful for you.
