Jimmy's Down the Street Restaurant Review

We only had a few minutes on the way back from visiting Coeur d'Alene and Sandpoint Idaho locations this week for breakfast.

After an early morning watching the sun come up over Pend O'reille Lake and a coffee on the porch of the Edgewater by City Beach, we cruised east, back to Montana.  BUT we were hungry, and Yelp provided our answer at exit 15 near Coeur d'Alene, ID.

Here's another local restaurant you guys should check out if you are in the area.

I'm not into finding the quickest and easiest chain to stop and eat at; we've been after the local eats that have big props and respect from locals for a long time now.

That's what we strive for in our retail business, and so I find it really interesting to find out more about the culture and immerse myself in it as much as possible in all our markets.  I like the people, the geography, businesses and culture of the towns we serve.

I ate a DTS scramble, my dad had the chicken fried steak (which they are known for) along with their pecan rolls, biscuits and gravy, and scrambles (pretty decent coffee too, and I'm picky here).  We got full.

Here's a list of best coffee places to try while you're in the northwest.

Jimmy's Down the Street is "old school," but in a way desired by "new schoolers."  They have great coffee, good service, and run a clean local cafe; Oh! And they open at 5:30 AM I'm up and going by then, and many other breakfast places aren't open that early.

Jimmy's has been highlighted on Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives.  They have been serving us breakfast in North Idaho for over 50 years.  I recommend them.

My toast came with butter already on it, and I like that. If you need more suggestions on best eats in the area, use the form below and we will work to get back to you within 24 hours.
