Hey guys, Ken here with North 40 Outfitters, Lead Archery Tech at our West Great Falls location. Today, I'm just going to go over a couple of tips on some things I think are really a good idea to keep with you when you're out hunting -just in your boat case, at the truck, or in your backpack. Whatever it's gonna be like, you're gonna be able to get to quickly.

What Should be in your Backpack?

The first thing, I always carry some extra wax. If the conditions are a bit wetter than you anticipated, this should just help your bowstring from soaking in any of that water. And out in the woods, it can go through really dry and then really wet conditions. So, it's not a bad idea to have some extra wax with you.

Also, if fletchings tear off and you don't have extra arrows, and you're needing fletchings in a pinch, these are a pretty great option. You just boil them in a tall cup or in a tall pot. They shrink-wrap right under your arrows. So, it's not a bad idea to carry something like this.

And then obviously you're going to want like an allen wrench set and a torque set. If your bow has the need for a torque driver, you're gonna want a torque wrench. And then, just about every bow and every accessory out there uses an allen wrench or a hex set. So, definitely a good idea to have some of those.

Keep Extra Arrows

And then, I like to keep a bit of loop material with me. If you have to re-tie your D loop or if you shoot a limb driven rest, you can use this to tie your rest back onto your bow. And then the last thing I would carry, especially for guys that are backpacking into different areas, is I would have one of these arrow totes. Just keep extra arrows on you and keep them protected in case you fall. So, this is a really good idea. Hope these tips help.
