Hey everybody, it's Alfonso with North 40 Outfitters and today we're going to talk about wood pellets for smoking. When it comes to wood pellets we carry three different brands at North 40 Outfitters, we have Tragger, Bear Mountain and the Pit Boss Brand. Just about every single brand has their different variety of pallets. They're all pretty similar to one another. For me, personally, a good place to start is what we call their competition blend. Every single one of these brands carries a competition blend. A competition blend is a really safe starting point because it's a good combination of different flavors that that particular brand carries and they're the ones that are going to be the most popular.

So you're going to have some mesquite and hickory, just about every single brand that we carry has that at least. From there, if you want to experiment with different flavors, what I recommend is looking at the back of the bag. Every single bag that we carry at North 40 is going to have a guide on the back for the different flavors of smoke that you can pair with the different pieces of meat, for instance, like a B for a pork or wild gain chicken and Turkey, all of that is located on the back of the bag or you can go visit the individual brands website as well. If you have any questions about the smoking process, please feel free to visit any of our store locations or visit north40.com.
